This is an elegant kitchen that features black shaker cabinets with brass hardware. We took the cabinets up to the ceiling with glass front doors so that the client could display her crystals. Other features are a coffee bar, a hidden pantry with pull-out shelving, and a credenza beneath the window with plenty of storage. The huge nine-foot island houses a farmhouse sink and a dishwasher. At the end of the island is seating, and at the back and the side are drawers for storage. Over the island, we installed an oblong brass chandelier with hanging crystals. The countertops are quartz with very minimum veining. The kitchen's star is this beautiful brass-polished marble backsplash with unique veining that makes a timeless statement. Finally, the appliances are top-of-the-line black stainless steel with all the bells and whistles. There is no hood vent but a downdraft vent at the back of the stove, which allowed us to add a pot filler in the middle of the beautiful backsplash. This kitchen is truly fit for a queen.

Description: This kitchen features a large island with seating at the end. Recess lighting and a bronze double pendant take center stage. Additional features are cream-colored raised front cabinets with bronze hardware, a farmhouse sink, a large hood vent, a five-burner stove, a subway backsplash, and black granite countertops. The client is a baker, so the island houses a pull-out mixer stand and a hidden trash can pull-out. Strategy placed near the island is a hidden pantry with pull-out shelves for easy access to cooking supplies. There is also a cabinet that hides her other baking equipment so that it does not clutter the counters. Adjacent to the appliance cabinet is a custom broom closet. A black stainless-steel appliance completes the design. This is a chef’s dream kitchen.

We had meetings with other designers, but they tried to tell me what I wanted. Wanda was different. She listened to my ideas and understood my love of cooking, baking, and entertaining. Under Wanda’s transforming care, our kitchen is now a welcoming space with an efficient configuration. There is plenty of room for family and friends, as well as all my gadgets. There is even a pop-up cabinet that holds my KitchenAid mixer. Wanda chose the best finishes, practical lighting, and sturdiest appliances and stayed within our budget. The crew of A Lady’s Touch was so careful of our 110-year-old farmhouse, fitting the function to our aesthetic. They even found a stir stick in the wall of what was the front porch and gifted it to us in a frame. We display it proudly in the kitchen.
